Sam has a range of experience working with diverse young people through charities to help children learn and develop skills. Sam coached disabled and non disabled children for more that 20 years in horse riding from beginners to National Championships.
This led to Sam getting involved in running National sport disability charities, including Chair of Riding for Disabled and of Activity Alliance (operating name for English Federation of Disability Sport). Sam continues as a trustee of London Marathon Foundation.
Sam has fundraised for a grass root charity in Northumberland and nationally, including leading the setting up of two training centres.
For 35 years Sam has run an upland farming business in Northumberland, including woodland and environmental schemes. Sam is passionate about our countryside.
More recently Sam’s interest in life long learning and well being, led to qualifying as a talking therapist. Sam enjoys working part time as a Counsellor in a High School in Morpeth.
