About the team

We consider our provision to be so successful because of the team we have leading it.

Between us our combined lived and professional experience means we are in a unique position to meet the needs of the communities we work with, and as leaders in this field we are now in a position to share that learning and experience with others.

Our consultants and trainers bring with them:

  • Lived experience of Autism, ADHD, trauma and neurodiveregence from both personal, parental and caring perspectives
  • Professional experience of working therapeutically with a range of young people and their parents/carers who have been excluded from other forms of support
  • Professional experience of building successful and meaningful forest school projects from the ground up, rooted in the needs of the community and with high impact
  • Professional experience of setting up and growing a fully outdoor ofsted registered Early Years provision

Behind the scenes we have a team of consultants and advisors who help shape our service through regular supervision and support. We draw on the expertise of a team of Educational Psychologists, Clinical Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, Play Therapists and Autistic Advocates to ensure our bespoke packages are high quality and high impact.

The sessions were engaging, informative, and tailored to our context, creating space for learning, reflection, and growth.

James Cobbold, Director, Raise Community Forest

Sophie brings both deep expertise and powerful lived experience.  Her ability to clearly and powerfully communicate complex policy, best practice, and neurodivergent perspectives made the sessions accessible and meaningful. Her inclusive approach encouraged us to reflect on cultural barriers and the systemic disadvantages neurodivergent people face—without judgement, but with real impact.

James Cobbold, Director, Raise Community Forest

Sophie’s insight has been transformative in helping our team grow more confident and curious in developing neuro-affirming practice—within our workplace and in how we work with the public and our stakeholders.  This has been especially important as Raise develops its own advocacy approach and programmes to better support neurodivergent people and practice.

James Cobbold, Director, Raise Community Forest

Sophie and the work of Stomping Grounds have been a source of extraordinary inspiration and expertise.
