Newcastle: Hodgkin Park

Thanks to Urban Green, Newcastle, we are able to offer fully accessible family sessions in the heart of Benwell, at hodgkin Park.

About this Location

Hodgkin Park (also known as Benwell Dene) was donated to the people of Newcastle in 1899 by Thomas Hodgkin, a prominent banker.

The park is in two parts, separated by Armstong Road. The north is smaller and quieter, and the southern park more open and refurbished in 2013 to boast a new children’s play area, multi-use games area and water features.

You can find three sculptures within Hodgkin Park – Paradise Gate, Metrolands Arbour and Nine Lives, by William Pym.
