Wild Ideas days are team-building experiences tailored to the requirements of your team.
These day-long sessions are facilitated by Sophie Watkinson (Stomping Grounds Founder) and John Coburn (Director, Wild Museum). John and Sophie are acclaimed for their work across education, arts, heritage and third sectors.
Wild Ideas supports your team to:
Grow their creative thinking. Activities and insights from the day will inspire teams to think through real work challenges.
Feel better together. For many organisations, this workshop will be a rare opportunity for individuals to get together with their colleagues, feel better as a team, and re-anchor themselves to the organisation and its vision.
Connect with nature. Learning about the natural world is proven to increase feelings of wellbeing in all of us. We will create opportunities for your staff to stay connected with the natural world following the day.

“You will not experience a team day quite like this anywhere else! Wild Ideas was a really imaginative way for our team to get out of the office and into nature to reflect together. We worked collaboratively with the Wild Ideas team to create a bespoke session that brought out the best in our team. The day was well managed and everyone was friendly and welcoming. We all thoroughly enjoyed it!“

FAQs
Wild Ideas can be for a range of different teams. Our facilitators have delivered workshops with and for:
- Museums, galleries and arts organisations
- Public and third sector organisations
- Education and research professionals
- Commercial and innovation-focused SMEs
Sessions are typically delivered for between 6 and 25 individuals. If you have a larger group, we’re open to discussing ways it could work.
We would agree a price with you once we understand your requirements. Sessions usually start at £1100.
This income goes towards the charitable work of Stomping Grounds CIO. A portion also supports the ongoing woodland management of the site, ensuring its sustainable future.
Activities have been designed to meet the aims and objectives of each bespoke booking, but will likely incorporate campfires, woodland crafts, walking, foraging, using natural resources. The day aims to bring teams together to have fun and be inspired in nature.
Generally we run these workshops in late Spring/Summer and early Autumn to avoid any extreme weather.
We use a large outdoor canopy if it rains. We also light a roaring fire if it’s chilly.
We don’t run sessions in high winds or electrical storms. If this weather is forecast, we would postpone the session.
We can provide fresh tea and coffee with water boiled on the fire, and vegetarian/vegan snacks. Generally we invite groups to bring their own lunch. If you want lunch provided, we can provide this at an additional cost per head. For our catering we work with Magic Hat Cafe and The Bank, both are charitable organisations who provide delicious food that works with food otherwise headed for landfill.
